“The
incorporation of data services was also
driven in part by our own needs, as all
our businesses face the increased risk of
theft or critical IT failure. We could buy
in backup, restore and recovery facilities
but why not do them ourselves: the business
was certainly big enough and plans for a
telco company were already advanced. Once
we added them, it was again a simple process
to make them available commercially to a
wider audience.
“BD-1 is in
its infancy but interest is growing and
I believe it will soon be providing a useful
add-on to our facilities management services,
as well as succeeding as a stand-alone company
attracting new customers that want to work
with a smaller, more user-friendly but still
cost-competitive and comprehensive communications
provider,” he adds.
